This year, the team from the Slim Dusty Foundation, along with some much appreciated and hard working volunteers, manned a merchandise stall in Peel Street. Armed with a range of t-shirts, caps, buckles, key rings and stubbie holders the public were excited to have opportunity to be able to purchase some authentic Slim Dusty merchandise.
With visitors from all over the world enjoying the festival it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the Slim Dusty Foundation and to distribute our very recent brochures showing first photographs on the start of construction of the Slim Dusty Centre.
This year the SDF team of Kathryn Yarnold (CEO/Business Deveopment Officer), Tracey Parker (Executive Assistant) and Melissa Killmore(Office Administrator) were assisted by volunteers, Richard Mohr, Neil and Margaret Burke, Laurie Bullock and Kim Honan whose help was immensely appreciated.
Our volunteers pictured below at the merchandise stand are from left to right - Richard Mohr (serving a customer), Margaret Burke, Neil Burke and SDF Administrator Melissa Killmore.
We would like to share the comments made by Richard, Margaret and Neil commented on their visit to Tamworth.
Richard Mohr...."I really enjoyed my time as a volunteer at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2010. It was a real buzz to get to talk to a wide range of people all with the similar interest of keeping the Slim Dusty name alive and be able to give them the latest on what was happening with the building of the Centre. I had been awaiting the time of the festival for a number of weeks from when I offered my services and look forward to the opening of the centre in Kempsey and hopefully be able to spend more time as a volunteer with the organisation. The organisation of the time in Tamworth was great with good accommodation provided. My companions on the stand at Tamworth were also very nice people all with the same outcomes in mind."

Neil & Margaret Burke...."Back home and back to the grindstone after a wonderful couple of days in the amazing world of the Tamworth Country Music Festival. It was our first visit to Tamworth for the festival and it was certainly an eye opener. We thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Slim Dusty Foundation Volunteer Team and having a product to sell that was so well received by the country music fans which made the experience all the more enjoyable. We look forward to doing it all again."
The Slim Dusty Foundation would welcome any interested people who feel that they are in a position to offer their services as volunteers both now and when the Centre is opened - to register as a volunteer please do not hesitate to call our office on (02) 6562 6533 or email your details to slimdustyadmin@midcoast.com.au
