Two local businesses and the Pratt family have made donations to the Slim Dusty Centre. The Pratt family pledged $10,000 to the Centre after the Many Happy Campfires event last year. While local companies Misty Mountain Health Retreat and DGI Trading Pty Ltd have also made donations. Slim Dusty Centre General Manager said it was indicative of the bond that Slim had with so many people, such as the late Richard Pratt.

Misty Mountain Health Retreat owner Michael O'Neil said he was only too willing to help. "I've been looking to put something back into the community and I thought the best possible way was through the Slim Dusty Centre," he said. "It has the potential to be the best thing that has happened to the Valley."

Ms Yarnold said the Centre remains on track to go to tender in early June. She is anticipating construction to start in late September. "We have nearly finalised the design process with a major overhaul of the floor plan." Ms Yarnold said.

The Slim Dusty Foundation has also welcomed as Foundation Donors Statewide Car Carriers of Gosford, local Kempsey artist Craig Fair and the Big Rigs National Road Transport Newspaper who have all donated in support of the Slim Dusty Centre.
