KEMPSEY MACLEAY RSL CLUB JOINS PUSH TO BUILD SLIM DUSTY CENTRE

KEMPSEY Macleay RSL Club has joined the push to build the Slim Dusty Centre in Kempsey, donating the first instalment of a $25,000 donation to the cause last week.
Club secretary manager Reg Brain said the club was proud to be associated with the project, and encouraged other Kempsey businesses to follow.

 "We are proud to be an inaugural sponsor of the Slim Dusty Heritage Centre, in fact we funded the first fundraising concert to launch the appeal," Mr Brain said.

"It gives us further pleasure to continue to show our confidence in Kempsey by pledging $25,000 over five years, and we challenge other local businesses to join the support train."

Slim Dusty Foundation general manager, Kathryn Yarnold, said she was delighted with the RSL's support.
"It's an exciting time for the Slim Dusty team," Ms Yarnold said. "We are all so chuffed with the support that's coming in from the Kempsey Community.

"I have got to say that the RSL presentation was up there amongst my favourites - they were equally passionate about the cause and the benefits to the entire community - they made it an absolute pleasure."
Slim Dusty Foundation director Kevin Farawell agreed with Ms Yarnold, and said it was a great thing that the RSL is getting behind the project.
"It shows that the RSL is very community minded and their support will give much confidence to both the project and the people of the Macleay."
