Workers at the centre started to investigate moving to the Kempsey CBD before Christmas, believing it was time to lift the profile of the Centre. "It was important to provide a face in the community, especially seeing as we will be starting to recruit and train volunteers for the museum," Ms Yarnold said. In what will be an incredibly busy period for the staff at the centre, the new premises will allow staff to meet people who would like to become volunteers.
The move into Kempsey Mall has been helped by local business owners. "The community support has been amazing," Ms Yarnold said. "Amcal's Greg Hollier donted much needed shop fittings and newly laid carpet while Raine & Horne Commercial has donated the shop free of rent." |
