For more than 60 years Slim Dusty defined the character of Australia.
Prior to his death in 2003, Slim's family and a group of prominent Australians were working together to set up the Slim Dusty Foundation, to recognise and commemorate Slim's unique contribution to our nation.
The Slim Dusty Foundation Ltd, Trustee of the Slim Dusty Museum Trust Fund, is now developing a major national tourist attraction based in Slim's birthplace of Kempsey NSW. Our mission is:
“To create a dynamic memorial to Slim Dusty, his vision of Australia and its people as portrayed in his timeless music. The Centre will provide a uniquely Australian experience in an environment ranking in innovation, excellence and relevance as one of the most significant of its type in the world”.

Already we have had tremendous support from Federal and State Governments, and many other organisations and individuals throughout the nation, who recognise the outstanding contribution Slim made to Australia. Recently the Prime Minister confirmed a Federal Government contribution of $1.5 million.

The Slim Dusty Foundation is seeking further community support to achieve its goal and raise the substantial funds needed to plan and construct the Centre. We believe there are many Australian organisations and individuals who would be proud to contribute to this important national project.

Proud Aussie supporters are being sought to make a donation and become one of our elite members of the proud Foundation Donor group. All donations of $1,000 and over will be recognised as a special Foundation Donor.
We invite you or your organisation to join us in creating this unique national memorial to a man who will always hold a firm place in the hearts of all Australians. Your contribution will help preserve this part of our country's heritage.

Donations are fully tax deductible and may be paid over a term if preferred.

As a Foundation Donor, your name will be proudly displayed on our Honour Roll of supporters at the entrance to the Centre.

Your support will also be acknowledged on the Slim Dusty Centre website.

You will receive a Certificate of Thanks and, as a valued supporter, you will be invited to the official opening of the Slim Dusty Centre.

The Slim Dusty Centre is more than a tourist attraction…… it will incorporate a museum dedicated to the life and achievements of Slim, and the unique, rugged face of Australian culture. It will house the incredible collection of priceless memorabilia, collected from a lifetime on the road, and provide a stage to launch national and international tours, taking Slim Dusty's Australia on exhibition around the world. The multipurpose facility will provide much needed community benefits in Slim's hometown, including tremendous employment opportunities, economic development, and once operational, the Centre will support young Australian musical talent with scholarships. It was Slim's dream to give back to his hometown……
