Families in the Macleay Valley are in for a treat these July school holidays, with a series of free art and play workshops lighting up the Slim Dusty Centre.

Themed Disco Days and Fluro Fun, the workshops invite children and families to step into the sparkle of the '70s and '80s. Participants will use recycled materials from preloved dance costumes to create vibrant textile collages and wearable art accessories.

The Disco Days sessions will run on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 July, while the Fluro Fun sessions follow on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 July. All sessions run from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Each workshop includes two identical sessions—please choose the date that suits you best.

Thanks to a student from the University of Southern Queensland, the workshops are offered free of charge. Spaces are limited and children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Bookings are essential.
