A wonderful crowd gathered at the Nulla Nulla Regional Gallery to celebrate the daytime opening of Drifting Along, the latest exhibition by Australian artist and illustrator Joy Le Cerf. Officially opened by the Mayor, the gallery was filled with warmth and energy as visitors came together to mark the occasion and experience Joy’s calming works firsthand.

Inspired by the lush rainforests of the Mid North Coast, Joy’s paintings and illustrations explore the restorative power of nature — flowing water, dense bushland, and the quiet everyday moments that invite stillness and reflection. The exhibition itself grew from simple walks in the bush with her grandchildren, where Joy witnessed small moments of curiosity, calm and wonder that later found their way into her art.

Guests moved through the gallery immersed in these gentle landscapes, with many drawn to the stunning mosaics that created a striking focal point within the exhibition. All of the artworks on display were originally created as illustrations for Joy’s books, offering visitors a rare opportunity to see these imaginative works presented together in a gallery setting.

It was inspiring to see the gallery so full of artists, art lovers, community members and supporters, all engaging with the exhibition and reflecting on its themes of mindfulness, nature and connection.

Drifting Along is now open to the public at the Nulla Nulla Regional Gallery, inviting visitors to pause, observe and imagine themselves within the landscape — where in stillness, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
